permission to paint like no one is watching.

So, What is PAINT MEDICINE?

What Intuitive Painting Is NOT:

  • A way to make better paintings

  • Painting only what makes you feel good

  • Product- based

  • Always abstract and ethereal

  • Technique- based in any way

  • Teaching you how to be creative

What Intuitive Painting IS:

  • Painting from your heart, rather than your head

  • A mindfulness practice that produces deep, internal shifts

  • A practice where you bring your WHOLE self, however you are

  • Trusting your brush and letting it take you wherever it does.

  • Radical self-acceptance

  • Truly being alive in the face of the unknown

It’s a Practice, not a Product

Paint Medicine is for EVERYONE. This is a practice about trusting and acting on your relationship to your personal intuition in the form of color, shape and form.

What we do:

In the beginning of class, we start with some movement exercises and a one-song dance party to help us get into our bodies. Then, we sit in circle and share with each other whatever is on our hearts and minds. What happens in Paint Medicine, stays in Paint Medicine. After that, we do a short meditation and then we PAINT!!!

An Invitation to be FULLY Self-EXPRESSED

Warning. This practice asks you to FEEL, not intellectualize.

You’ve heard the expression, “you’ve got to feel it to heal it”? Well, this is the place to feel. And express it- with PAINT! Bonus!

You might go deep. You might go shallow. You might go wavy, rocky, tsunami-y, calm, serene, and all the places in-between. This practice is a concentrated place to be fully yourself and go there, wherever that is, WITH NO JUDGEMENT.

YOUR FACILITATOR:

Hello, I’m Paula!  I'm an artist and teacher with a passion for freeing your inner artist!

I’m a certified Master Expressive Arts Facilitator where I work with lovely humans willing to immerse themselves into the wild and wonderful world of this practice.

I’m also an artist with a BSEd. from The University of Georgia and an MFA from Columbia College Chicago. Galleries that represent my work are in NY, Boston, Sarasota and Marietta.

Formally, I taught art in schools and colleges for 15+ years and now through my own studio and online.

When I’m not creating art, I'm playing with my family of 2 young boys, 2 young adult stepsons, one husband, one dog, one cat, (and no reptiles-yet! ) having adventures in the Atlanta area and surrounds.

Let's start CREATING!
