My abstracted landscapes are impressions of places that are inspired by our earth, yet not quite of this world. I allow the colors to shift and play, forming layers that let you choose where you may be, and then choose once again.
For the next 28 days, I am committing to make a piece of art every day. Here is the first one. Happy Groundhog Day! Happy Lunar New Year! Happy Chinese New Year! Happy New Moon!
Inspired by a trip to Mali in 2010, these paintings depict a New Year’s celebration in the city of Bamako. I attempt to capture my love of dance and movement as a universal language. I see the moving body as a flow of gestures, holding the energy of progression, full with the glory of human expression.
